Sharks sweep double header Game 1- The St. Louis Varsity Sharks delivered a dominant, all-around performance on Saturday, shutting out the Vestaburg Varsity Wolverines 9–0 in a five-inning contest. From the opening inning, the Sharks set the tone offensively, plating two runs in the first and never looking back. They added runs in the third, fourth, and a decisive three-run fifth to put the game out of reach. Despite finishing with seven hits, St. Louis maximized their opportunities through aggressive baserunning and timely hitting. At the top of the lineup, B. Inbody sparked the offense, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs scored, an RBI, and a walk. M. Hoyt added to the pressure, driving in two runs while scoring twice himself. R. Siefka chipped in with a hit, two runs, and a walk, helping keep innings alive. C. Zacharko made his presence felt on both sides of the ball. Offensively, he recorded a hit and an RBI, including a double, but it was his performance on the mound that defined the game. The right-hander threw a complete five-inning shutout, allowing just two hits while striking out 10 and walking none. He needed only 58 pitches 46 for strikes, to dominate the Wolverines lineup, facing just 18 batters in a near-flawless outing. Game 2- Miles Strong Leads St. Louis Varsity Sharks Past Vestaburg Varsity Wolverines Miles Strong collected four hits in four at bats, as St. Louis Varsity Sharks defeated Vestaburg Varsity Wolverines 18-4 on Saturday at TBD. Strong doubled in the fourth inning, singled in the third inning, doubled in the fifth inning, and singled in the second inning. Keityn Clark struck out 12 batters on the day. The pitcher also surrendered four hits and four runs over five innings while walking two. Sharks made the score 3-2 in the top of the second after Bentley Inbody doubled, scoring two runs, and Marcus Hoyt grounded out, scoring one run. Sharks scored six runs on three hits in the top of the third inning. Clark singled, scoring two runs, Strong singled, scoring one run, Parker Wonch drew a walk, scoring one run, and Hoyt singled, scoring two runs. Sharks scored five runs on four hits in the top of the fourth inning. Strong doubled, scoring one run, Tiger Russell doubled, scoring two runs, Inbody singled, scoring one run, and one run scored on a balk. Sharks amassed 12 hits in the game. Inbody went 2-for-3 at the plate and led the team with three runs batted in. Wonch, Carson Zacharko, and Strong each stole multiple bases for St. Louis Varsity Sharks. St. Louis Varsity Sharks had a strong eye at the plate, tallying seven walks for the game. St. Louis Varsity Sharks stole 11 bases in the game. Sharks play at home on Tuesday against Pinconning Varsity Spartans in their next game.
